Acerca de esta película

Frank is the hilarious, offbeat comedy about a young wannabe musician, Jon (Domhnall Gleeson), who finds himself out of his depth when he joins an avant-garde pop band led by Frank (Michael Fassbender), a mysterious musical genius who hides himself inside a large fake head, and the terrifying Clara (Maggie Gyllenhaal). Directed by Lenny Abrahamson (What Richard Did) and written by Jon Ronson (The Men Who Stare at Goats) and Peter Straughan (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), Frank is an uproarious road-trip of musical mayhem. Loosely inspired by Ronson’s memoirs about cult stand-up legend Frank Sidebottom, it’s the must-see comedy of the year!

This movie changed my perception of how life could be. After watching the movie I tried to live like Frank for a few days, where I discovered the true horror of humanity. Today I stand back with a feeling of emptiness in my soul, not understanding how we humans ever can be so selfish. Frank illustrates all the good and nothing else in this world. Thanks Frank, I can now live my life 2,5 hours wiser and you really have shown the way to fairness to other people's! I can only recommend this movie which covers all the best aspects such as love, humour and the real life.

Could have been great, but fails to dive deeply into either the music or the issue of mental illness with any real commitment. The main character's nativity fumbles with some of the serious issues of mental illness, only the story of Frank really lands but comes to little to late - wish it had been developed further.

It's not a family movie if that's what you are looking for. It's a great comedy, with really funny moments and a slight sad flavour, since it deals with a main caracter (how good is Fassbender that can pull a wonderful performance without using any facial expressions!) that has a mental illness. Probably one of the weirdest movies I saw last year and the one I enjoyed the most.
