Acerca de esta película

Boris Karloff stars as the screen's most memorable monster in what many consider to be the greatest horror film ever made. Dr. Frankenstein (Colin Clive) dares to tamper with life and death by creating a human monster (Boris Karloff) out of lifeless body parts. It's director James Whale's adaptation of the Mary Shelley novel blended with Karloff's compassionate portrayal of a creature groping for identity that makes Frankenstein a masterpiece not only of the genre, but for all time.

I grew up on old movies, and Frankenstein is one of the greatest horror movies ever. Boris Karloff (who was called simply "Karloff" for effect) was a phenomenal actor. The scene that always scared me the most was when the Monster was at the lake, and the little girl wants to play with him. It's a heart-wrenching sequence, and it originally was taken out of the movie. Apparently at preview showings, there were those who fainted at the sight of the little girl being killed. I have always thought that through the "humanity" within the Monster, he is a pitiable creature indeed Brilliantly acted, wonderful direction, this is truly a classic.

Even for today's standards, this movie is one the bests that the genre has to offer. It holds up well for being a classic and is directed beautifully. It is a pure masterpiece that can still give you chills.

If this is the uncut version, you really get to see the monster wanting a friend but chased and hunted for being an abomination. The real criminal is his creator for playing God.
