Acerca de esta película

The epic story of the three day battle that forever changed the course of the American Civil War, this sweeping drama is compassionately recounted through the eyes of soldiers both Confederate and Union. The all-star cast includes Academy Award and Emmy-nominee and Golden Globe-winner Tom Berenger (Training Day, Platoon), Emmy and Golden Globe-winner Martin Sheen (TV's West Wing, Catch You Me If You Can), Golden Globe-nominee Jeff Daniels (Good Night, And Good Luck, The Squid and the Whale), Emmy and Golden Globe-nominee Sam Elliott (Hulk, We Were Soldiers) and C. Thomas Howell (Hidalgo, The Outsiders). Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Killer Angels.

Movie designed to be an epic. Acting varies, monologues sometime too long and melodramatic. Scenes, particularly some lasting over 10 minutes of charging (walking toward battle), could have been edited (shortened) and the movie would have been just as good or better. I would probably rate it as 3.5, but compared to much junk today, I gave it a 4. Worth watching.

Best Historical Civil War movie I've ever watched in my life. It shows glory to both the Union and the Confederate, something which is rare for a Civil war movie. Also, a movie which broughts me into a Civil War buff.

By far the best Civil War movie. Manages to stay mostly apolitical and objective despite the divisive topic.
