This movie really encompasses the way the world saw Hollywood at this time- exuberant, spoiled, opulant stars with overinflated egos (that we of course love). The cast is filled with many huge stars- John & Lionel Barrymore playing such opposite roles, Garbo as a sad ballerina, Beery as an unscrupulous businessman, and Crawford as a stenographer in love...makes for a great film. Sad ending, but great nonetheless. If you love Classic Films and you haven't seen Grand Hotel- YOU MUST!

A great film. Very big fan of Greta Garbo. Re-watchable.
