Harry (James Caan, The Godfather) and Walter (Elliott Gould, M*A*S*H) are low-rent vaudevillians who also work cons on the side. When they are arrested, they are put in jail and meet Adam Worth (Michael Caine, The Cider House Rules), a legendary bank robber who is planning to rob the Lowell Bank and Trust when he is released. Harry and Walter steal Worth's plans and escape from prison, looking to get the loot before Worth.
