IP MAN: KUNG FU MASTER harks back to Ip's early days before the Communist Revolution in 1949. Ip, portrayed by Dennis To for the third time as the martial artist who famously tutored Bruce Lee, was then a police captain who was framed for the murder of a ruthless but honorable mobster, and targeted for vengeance by his dangerous daughter. Forced to quit the force, Ip soon also has to contend with the arrival of the Japanese army in Guangzhou.

Sadly, the story felt shallow and flat. The characters were superficial at best. The Wushu felt more like a 70's Kung Fu flick than a modern day martial arts film. I can honestly say that I find this movie to be a complete waste of time and regret spending the money renting it.

Honestly this has to be the worse of the ip man movies. I fell in love with the movies from the 1st one this one just feels like they rushed some scenes that they could have been built on more...

This may not have been the best of the Ip Man movies but the essence of arts Wing Chun and true martial arts where fantastic. Also I enjoyed watching the Ip Man character from the legend waas born on display. I definitely enjoyed the movie!
