Kesu has a record for flunking exams. He is kicked out of school. He assists his father on the truck. There is an explosive energy lurking behind every corner. Kesu watches the violence and corruption and negotiates it in his own quirky head-on manner. There is not much hope for a bright and prosperous future for Kesu.

Kesu falls in love with an American girl Sapna who has come to Bihar to research on Madhubani Paintings and to pursue her studies as she ventures into dangerous areas. The odds are heavily against Kesu - Sapna’s protective, rich upper caste uncle and his own temperamental father, and the social distance. But Kesu is irreversibly and irrevocably in love and is determined to find out what is love?

Aided by his friends, he tries to explore this romance and then when it seems to them that things might just click; Sapna’s American boyfriend comes visiting.

The story takes a twist as Sapna is kidnapped and Kesu and Sapna’s boyfriend go looking for her. But Kesu realizes the wisdom of the ancients - In love, the stream flows backward - the one who stakes all and loses is the winner - Jo Dooba So Paar. It's love in Bihar!
