Four teenagers in detention discover an old video game console with a game they’ve never heard of. When they decide to play, they are immediately sucked into the jungle world of Jumanji in the bodies of their avatars (Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan). They’ll have to complete the adventure of their lives filled with fun, thrills and danger or be stuck in the game forever!

This movie is a well written update on the original Jumanji movie. But in some ways, to me, it actually feel like a more rounded experience than the original. I watched the original and this film in one hit and I think that this one has just the right balance of emotional and action highs in all the right places and it does it without feeling like it has been written to a formula, so I think I enjoyed it slightly more than the original... My mother loved it she's in her 70's, I loved it i'm in my 50's I can imagine that most kids would love it too, so this is a real family film with lots of action and laughs. I'm going to give it 5 stars. Being an avid computer gamer I loved the way the game updated itself to be more like a computer game than a board game. I'd love to see another movie about the origin of the game - I mean it is amazingly powerful, why was it created? who created it? Etc. I just think that a movie with the same cast somehow getting behind the scenes of the game to find out about its origin might be a lot of fun. Also if you haven't seen Zathura - a sci fi spin off of the original film - then take a look. :)

To those who 1 starred it.. That's sad. It's a perfect movie for this generation. Concept is being inside a game they don't know about... Cause they grew up before knowing that console was around. They were completely clueless and that made it so perfect. I love the combination of cast... Jack black being introduced to the most amazing pair the rock and Kevin was outstanding in my opinion... This movie sold so much in tickets and the movie experience explains why.. It's 10/10 comedy, comedy is what we need these days and these guys hit on the head.. I hope to see another one.

Loved Dwyane, Kevin and Jack so bloomin funny. The girl i have not heard much about but she acted well too. The concept and storyline was pretty damn good. Action scenes were performed quite well too. Overall great film to watch with family and mates. To anyone who has rated this flick a one, i feel sorry for ya, must have a great sense of humor to watch this. Enough said.
