Clint Eastwood da vida a un desencantado soldado estadounidense de la II Guerra Mundial, quien se entera de que tras las líneas enemigas alemanas se esconde una fortuna en lingotes de oro. En esta comedia negra, Eastwood se pone al frente de un grupo poco convencional que realiza una arriesgada maniobra en territorio enemigo para conseguir el botín. Sin embargo, el Ejército la confunde con una hazaña heroica.

Absolute classic! This movie came out the year I was born, and it has aged ALMOST as well as I have. I even love the stupid song. I just watched it for the eleventy billionth time, only this time was with my 13 year old son, who loved it as well. What else can I tell you? Clint Eastwood, Telly Savalas and Don Rickles? Forget about it!

Best story, best characters, best music, best everything. Soldiers hoping for a big payday and Clint Eastwood being charmful with Donald Sutherland being the funniest guy in the whole war.
