Acerca de esta película

More interested in partying and flirting with young musicians than work, veteran rock journalist Ellie Klug (Toni Collette) has one last chance to prove her value to her magazine's editor: a no-stone-unturned search to discover what really happened to long lost rock god Matthew Smith, who also happens to be her ex-boyfriend. Teaming up with an eccentric amateur documentary filmmaker (Thomas Haden Church in a delightful performance), Ellie hits the road in search of answers.

Lucky Them is the rare film built around a authentic female protagonist that's relatable to both men and woman., Toni Collette delvers a gritty performance as a lost sole searching for meaning as her world crumbles. While the plot centers around her quest to find a lost rock star, who is also her lost love,. what she's really looking for is herself. Thomas Hayden Church nearly steals the film as her eccentric friend and foil. His humor and sincerity are a stark contrast to Ellie's cynicism as their chemistry carries the film to a finale is both understated, realistic and powerful. Some films get lost in the shuffle of distribution only to find life on cable and Netflix. Lucky Them is one of those hidden gems that will only gain steam as it becomes available to a wider audience.
