Acerca de esta película

Marshall is based on the incredible true story of future Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall and one of the landmark cases of his life. It follows the young lawyer (Chadwick Boseman) to conservative Connecticut to defend a black chauffeur (Sterling K. Brown) charged with sexual assault and attempted murder of his white socialite employer (Kate Hudson). Muzzled by a segregationist court, Marshall partners with a courageous young Jewish lawyer (Josh Gad) and together they mount the defense in an environment of racism and anti-Semitism. - ( Original Title - Marshall )

I wish there were half star options, otherwise it would be closer to 4. The movie was decent enough with passable performances by Bozeman and Gadd. Mr. Bozeman has a true screen appeal, however he tends to be a rather one not actor. Mr. Gadd's voice and appearance has a tendency to bring me back to some of his earlier, family- friendly films, but this is not entirely his fault. The film is a by the numbers legal drama which hits the necessary, yet unsurprising notes.

I loved the movie. Chadwick Boseman is the go to guy for bios=Jackie Robinson, James Brown and now Thurgood Marshall. With his upcoming Black Panther movie coming out, this brother is making great moves in the industry. I see this movie as a primer for individuals that may not be as familiar with Thurgood Marshall as they are with Dr. King, Malcolm and other. Like Medgar Evers, Thurgood Marshall was a significant individual in the battle for equality in these United States, With the political climate being what it is, I am disappointed that this movie didn't achieve more discussion. Just like Ava Duvaney's Selma, this movie explores a specific time in the life of the main character who may be known for bigger achievements than the one depicted on screen. It is my hope that individuals watch the movies and do their research on the subject for further exploration. This is not black history-this is a critical and important part of America's history. I wanted more backstory into how his wife's miscarriage impacted his work at the time and later on. Nevertheless, it was two hours not wasted.

As a lawyer that practices in CT the courtroom scenes were very realistic. The material was well acted and the story well told. While there was some creative license utilized to enhance the story, the movie stuck very close to the actual case details.
