I had high hopes for this movie -- it deals with themes of death, the meaning of life, family relations, and astronomy along with beautiful cinematography. However, it turned out to be one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The first half of the movie deals with a disastrous wedding -- imagine a comedy about the things that can go wrong with a wedding but without comedy. It is just very unpleasant to watch but without any emotional payoff. The second half seems to be an attempt at a metaphor regarding mental illness. Slowness does not necessarily equal introspection, superficial beauty does not lead sustained interest. I almost never take the time to write movie reviews but in this case the movie was so bad that I hope to save someone else 135 minutes of their time.

While I will agree this movie is shot beautifully, I will not be watching it ever again. All but the last 5-10 minutes are very boring, just leading up to the inevitable end. the opening 'sequence' made me think the entire movie was going to be in slow-motion. Thank god that wasn't the case, but then, maybe I could find a way to appreciate it more if it had been. Oh and unnecessary nudity can not be appreciated by me, unless you're talking about statues and paintings. Not some movie... Don't get me wrong, I love art. But I guess this form of art is lost on me.

I love photo and cinema art but this was an unwatchable movie with few good artistic scenes. Out side of the few well shot scenes; it was like watching a 2 hour long JC Penny ad. Very slow moving, poor/no plot development and completely forgettable characters wearing what looked like JC Pennny's spring collection. It was like the director was playing a joke to see how bad of a movie he could make and still have people say it was amazing because of the photography.
