A brooding look at the adolescence of a serial killer from someone who knew him first-hand. Slow-paced and sad. I read that the filmmaker asks himself what people could have picked up on and helped Dahmer with in his mental illness. If the old classmate's memories are true, there were many signs. The 1970's background is perfect. They captured the spirit of the decade as well as the dress sense. There is a prom scene that channels Carrie in the reverse for me. You need to watch it to see what I mean.

Very well-crafted film about the beginnings evolution of a serial killer in the making. What I liked you actually feel empathy for this dude but at the same time you're disturbed by it. I'm not familiar with Ross Lynch but he gives an incredible performance in this. A very good study of the chaos and darkness in people that create monsters.

The storyline is close to life. We all know that he was an odd guy and it started early. If you're into true crime you should like it. If you listen to podcasts check out Crime in Sports, Small Town Murder, Bloody Murder and Hillbilly Horror Stories. I'll rate and review those all day.
