This is a very very clever film and is well worth taking a little bit of patience to get into. After a literally explosive start, which is not all that it first appears, the film continues gently. My initial reaction was, oh no, not another Art-house French film with long shots of expressionless faces. But not at all. After about 10 minutes this man's unbelievably perverse reality suddenly becomes clear and its hard not to be intrigued by what makes him tick. The plot develops fast and takes a number of very thought provoking twists and turns. Ultimately, but in an obscure way, it is a feel good film. It is beautifully and shot and the acting is impeccable. Highly recommended.
