Watch the movie don't rely soley on these reviews. But if you need to, this is the first movie in which alot of good things happened to a not so great script and it still didn't help, in my opinion. The acting was amazing across the board, the cinematography beautiful, the score did exactly what it's supposed to; induce an emotional response. The metaphor, graspable. The correlation between the two stories understandable. The story in it's entirety...Eh, so what. It's almost as if Tom Ford had a few really good parts of what could have been a great whole, slapped them together anyway and called it abstract or in this case "avant-guard". I don't want to get too specific and ruin the movie. The ending was like, really? But you decide.

Ugh. Not the worst movie I've ever seen, but definitely not worth spending any money or time on. Overall, just a really annoying movie full of plot holes and head scratchers. Sure, maybe there's a deeper meaning than what is happening on the surface but overall it was poorly done. I gave it two stars instead of one because Amy Adams and Michael Shannon are really good in it.

Don't listen to the people on here. After all, hitman agent 47 has a 4.1 so the amount of credibility you should have with these people are rather low. Nocturnal Animals is a visually stunning movie that has a meaning if you truly pay attention, as most of the movie is a metaphor for the relationship between Jake Gyllenhaal and Amy Adams characters.
