~spoilers~ A very powerful and moving film. I found the cinematography to be so beautiful and the actors, brilliant. I wouldn't fault it except that I found it difficult to watch as I squirmed in anguish at Tony's inability to protect his loved ones in the novel segments. The cowboy cop might be one of my favourite characters of all time. The colour red, psychologically represents passion, love, anger, lust, violence used as a motif was beautiful. Jake's portrayal of the writer that showed a lot of strength in "a different way" despite being sensitive was moving. I was deeply touched by the dialogue between Amy and Jake in the film and could relate to it when I was in love, the good and the bad. The intimacy of their young relationship and Amy Adam's feelings reading the novel later was very, very amazing. I found it a cautionary tale that we shouldn't try to be like our parents. haha. No, I think, if I were to take anything from this it would be that we should try to live by our highest principle so that we would not live in regret and there would not be any revenge aimed towards us. Very clever film. I look forward to seeing more from Tom Ford in the future.

(SPOILER ALERT) Wow! Harsh... She already had such an empty life and his book and the dinner was the only hopeful things she had left and then she was left with nothing. Loved how the 'fictional' story, displayed his feelings of his wife and child being ripped away from him. Amazing storytelling!

F&@K, I mean really. This movie is brilliant, I don't want to say want thing about the movies besides you're in its for the god dam story. The journey of Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal characters make this movie brilliant. It does contain nudity and some violence but its a must watch.
