Tras el cierre de la mina de yeso ubicada en el pueblo de Nevada en el que vive, Fern (Frances McDormand) prepara su furgoneta y se lanza a la carretera. Convirtiéndose en una nómada actual, Fern comienza a explorar la vida al margen de la sociedad convencional y pronto descubre que posee una resiliencia y un ingenio que le permiten tener vivencias totalmente desconocidas para ella hasta el momento. Por el camino de esta historia de esperanza, conoce a otros nómadas que se convierten en sus mentores de vida en medio de los vastos y, a veces, sobrecogedores paisajes del Oeste de Estados Unidos. En NOMADLAND, de Searchlight Pictures y la aclamada directora Chloé Zhao, aparecen nómadas de la vida real como Linda May, Swankie y Bob Wells. Con mimo y perspicacia, Zhao elaboró el guion basándose en el libro "País nómada: supervivientes del siglo XXI" de Jessica Bruder. McDormand le da vida a Fern, en una actuación poderosa y auténtica. David Strathairn coprotagoniza el filme en el apasionante papel de un hombre del que Fern se hace amiga. NOMADLAND es un fascinante homenaje a la humanidad, la independencia y la aventura.

If you want some communist propaganda - this is the movie for you. These rich adult pretenders know what is best for you - and this rich lady is going to pretend to live in a van to show you "real life" My Dad was homeless for 20 years. He was there because he chose booze instead of getting his life together. He eventually chose life and became a trucker and a success. This hopeless movie is just trash.

For six years I lived in my van after the death of my companion of 33 years. I chose to. I found a way to live free until some nosy persons at my work interceded in my affairs. I endured some of the problems that she and others encountered in this movie. If you are going through homelessness, you need to keep your chin up and believe in yourself, Be like Thomas the Tank, I think I can I think can. I will be damned I will. There is nothing wrong with living out of your van or car. You get to keep more of your money, rather than giving it to a crooked slum landlord. Good performance. I watched it last night in one sitting. I can re-watch it anytime I like because I purchased it.

So, sometimes art depicts things that don't make us feel good. Disturbing that some don't seem to realize that. But then one realizes how unimportant art seems to be for a whole lot of people. We need more art like this movie. Yes, its sparse on the explosions, death, sex and car chases. It also asks one to think, to consider the 'other' and maybe, just maybe, try and see the dignity of humans in difficult circumstances not of their own making. See this film. It is worthy of the awards it has received. It's not 'woke' Hollwood garbarge nor is it communist propoganda.
