Rajinikanth's sister is killed by Thyagarajan, a smuggler. Being a hapless brother, he is unable to confront Thyagarajan at that point of time. He gets trained in martial arts. Assuming the name 'Paayum Puli' he gives tips to police about Thyagarajan. Rajini meets Radha and falls in love with her. Thyagarajan abducts Radha. How Rajini rescues Radha and avenges his sister's death is the rest of the movie. (CBFC/A/4492)
