This movie is wonderful. The music is masterfully chosen as well, especially during the scene where the protagonist tells the people meeting in the malt shop about how "there are some places where the road doesn't end... it just keeps going" - that scene will always stick with me. It's a little preachy towards the end, but the story calls for it, frankly. This is worth a rent.

A great way of explaining racism, inequality, religion and mentality of boomers trying to hold on to "the good old days" without directly offending anyone. When my mom rented this from the Video store, I though I was going to hate it. I ended up loving this and making it one of my favorite movies ever made. Easily a top 10 for me

An engrossing story, set up as a comedy, becomes a complex deep-dive into how we live and what it means to be human. The cinematography is clever, with jaw-dropping direction and color-work. The characters all felt fleshed out enough within a world where they had to keep growing. It was well written, had some really heartwarming moments, mixed with seriously smart uses of the fact the main characters are in a TV-show. Seriously a must-watch for me.
