Bursting with all the "Colors Of The Wind," Pocahontas tells the story of a free-spirited girl who wonders what adventures await "Just Around The Riverbend." Pocahontas -- along with her playful pals Meeko and Flit -- relies on the guidance of her loving and wise Grandmother Willow when English settlers arrive on the shores of their village. Her chance meeting with the courageous Captain John Smith leads to a beautiful friendship that bridges the gap between two cultures, and changes history.

This movie is good but it hides behind the truth of Pocahontas. It uses the story of John or something like that and makes it kid friendly. Obviously if they followed the true story it wouldve not been a disney animated movie. Basically from the description, she 'falls in love with the courageous John Smith'. If somebody can make the true story of Pocahontas, live action disney movie or not, then we can make people see the truth. Great movie if you dont know the true story.

For the people who don't know, since this is still the 1995 version, there is a scene missing from the movie, which was added in the 2005, 10th anniversary dvd. The scene is mainly Pocahontas and Smith singing the song "If I Never Knew You" and if your like me, you won't be able to watch the original version after seeing the extended. I wish they would make it possible to choose which version of the movie you'd like to purchase.

The story of Pocahontas is known throughout the world she was a strong and powerful young woman. They may have made a few changes to the story along the way but who doesn't when they're writing their own it's a great classic a great family movie nothing but wonders I grew up with this movie and I think it helped me become a little more adventurous as a child
