El cineasta Yorgos Lanthimos dirige esta increíble historia sobre la fabulosa evolución de Bella Baxter (Emma Stone), una joven resucitada por el Dr. Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe), un científico genial y poco convencional. Bajo la protección de Baxter, Bella está deseosa de aprender. Bella ansía el cosmopolitismo que le falta y se fuga con Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo), un abogado resabido y depravado, a una aventura desatada a través de los continentes. Liberada de los prejuicios de su tiempo, Bella mantiene firme su propósito de ser una abanderada por la igualdad y la liberación. "Pobres criaturas" también cuenta con las actuaciones de Ramy Youssef, Christopher Abbott y Jerrod Carmichael. El guion es de Tony McNamara, basado en el libro de Alasdair Gray, y está producida por Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe, Yorgos Lanthimos y Emma Stone.

Calificaciones y opiniones

Not good. I don't understand the love this film has gotten. I couldn't stop looking at the clock while watching. The first half at least had a good chunk of humor to keep you interested. After that, it just was a drawn out softcore porn film. If you really like seeing Emma Stone's nipples and seeing her have sex, this movie is your type of content. If you're looking for anything outside of that, this movie falls short most all-the-time. Don't waste your money cause you're not missing anything.

Shades of Frankenstein but really I think the underlying theme of the movie is the age long struggle between the sexes. A tongue and cheek snipe at men who for so long has had the pivotal role in Hollywood ever since the time when man first discovered the wheel or was it woman? Putting that aside and copious amount of nudity, it was delightful and entertaining throughout. It was different, it pulled you in and the squares don't fit in the round holes but who cares, I had fun watching.

the first bit was creepy and weird. once I got through that, I really enjoyed the emerging personality of the MC and the beauty of the way it was filmed. I can see how some people might get hung up about their concepts of sexual morals. That is the point ;)
