Pride is inspired by an extraordinary true story. It's the summer of 1984, Margaret Thatcher is in power and the National Union of Mineworkers is on strike, prompting a London-based group of gay and lesbian activists to raise money to support the strikers' families. Initially rebuffed by the Union, the group identifies a tiny mining village in Wales and sets off to make their donation in person. A movie worth watching. WARNING: If your political views haven't changed since the 1800's you may find this offensive.

I really loved this movie. Being able to care about others while both the miners and the GLSM were struggling was very uplifting. It makes me realize my struggles are small.

Just finished watching Pride. It is such an incredible movie. It's been a while since I've seen a movie that has touched me emotionally like this one, especially a docu-movie. It's amazing what you can achieve with unity, respect and love. So GOOD!
