PRIEST, a post-apocalyptic sci fi thriller, is set in an alternate world -- one ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. The story revolves around a legendary Warrior Priest (Paul Bettany) from the last Vampire War who now lives in obscurity among the other downtrodden human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities ruled by the Church. When his niece (Lily Collins) is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires, Priest breaks his sacred vows to venture out on an obsessive quest to find her before they turn her into one of them. He is joined on his crusade by his niece's boyfriend (Cam Gigandet), a trigger-fingered young wasteland sheriff, and a former Warrior Priestess (Maggie Q) who possesses otherworldly fighting skills. © 2011 Screen Gems, Inc. This was (told to me by a comic nerd friend) supposed to be a new comic big screen adaptation. I wasn't expecting too much and really enjoyed it. I like explosions. I like superpowered fighting and vampire critters.I like Karl Urban and oh man did Karl chew the scenery, but I loved every minute of his chewage. This is a guilty favorite of mine and I hope you give it a chance. Some of the mythos is intriguing and it doesn't lack pop-out horror moments along with fun fight scenes. I might just watch it again. Hey: Maggie Q rocks by the way. Good casting all around.

To many unbelievable things..LMAO 😂 for crying out loud its a movie. Stick to documentaries if you want realism. It's in the Sci-fi section. Over the top action draws you in. Awesome storyline. Just please don't watch if you expect it to be realistic. This movie is amazing and I am definitely going to by it for blue ray. Oh boo hoo I read the comics, bla bla.. if you don't like these types of movies than here's a thought... don't watch them.... a Duuuuuhhhhhh

Overall a pretty boring and uninspired movie. Too much slo mo CGI action. I love action, but this is the crappy generic CGI enhanced type, ripped from Equilibrium or 300. As mentioned in other reviews, very little plot or character development until the end. Skip it and go watch Dredd or Infini, two much better sci fi action films.
