So glad I didn't pay full price to see this in the theater, but still feel ripped off paying for the rental and the time spent watching this lousy movie. Expected SO much more. Story was horrible, none of the characters or motivations made sense. The entire premise falls apart the moment they land on the planet. These were the most unscientific scientist I've ever seen even in b-level horror movies. The movie wasn't even "thoughtful." Wait for it to debut on the SciFi channel for free but don't spend a dime on this movie. Horrible.

Movie makes no sense. It's a religious propaganda against science, and against finding the truth about our origins. Scientists get to another planet and discover SO MUCH, but somehow feel depressed about knowing the answer, even though they have only uncovered the tip of the iceberg. None of the characters made sense, they all acted exactly opposite of what one would expect. The plot is just as idiotic as well. This movie really is an insult to intelligence, and is only good for mindless space horror.

Ridley Scott's Blade Runner, Alien and even his 1984 themed Apple commercial were marks of his genius. Prometheus however, comes more than thirty years removed from Alien's cinematic brilliance. It is a moronic travesty and one of the worst 'sequels' of all time. It starts well, but quickly devolves into a nonsensical series of character kill offs and Michael Bay-style pyrotechnics. Scott's so-called 'surprise ending' was actually a sad last nail in the coffin of this slow motion train wreck.
