Acerca de esta película

Written by and starring a 14-year-old girl, this film is a living, breathing snapshot of how it feels to be a teen in today's disconnected world. Purgatory House begins where most stories end, as it chronicles the after-life journey of a lonely teen who abandons her life of turmoil and drug addiction, only to find herself caught somewhere between heaven and hell. There, she must choose whether she will accept her drab existence or finally discover within herself the power to change. Told in non-linear form, this quirky coming-of-age film stars teen writer Celeste Davis, Johnny Pacar ("Make it or Break it", "Flight 29 Down") Jim Hanks (Baby Geniuses), and Devin Witt, and features music by Natalie Merchant, Blue Oyster Cult, Violent Femmes, Grammy-nominated Eric Bazilian, and other top recording artists. Winner of 10 Film Festival Awards and 2-time PRISM Award™ Nominee, this powerful debut from director Cindy Baer has been hailed by Film Threat as "a charming, touching, clever and all-around brilliantly crafted film."

With the recent passing of Robin Williams, depression and suicide have become hot button topics in the media. In Purgatory House we delve deep into life after death, more specifically what happens to those that commit suicide. The overall theme of this movie is.. suicide IS NOT the answer! However, it's not balled up in a quaint religious package or in the guise of propaganda. This is a subjective view of how an "easy out" has disastrous consequences. Kudos to the 14yr old screenwriter for consistency in this lofty depiction of the after life. Purgatory House is riddled with intricacies and subtleties. Once here your body can handle as much drugs and alcohol with unyielding tolerance. All of your habits from earth transverse into Purgatory House. You walk in with the clothes on your back, and in your hotel room is a big screen tv with only 1 channel.. earthTV. Here's where you can watch realtime activity of your friends and family back on .. you guessed it - Earth! The one thing I took away from this film was the underlying factor of Hope. No matter what difficulties you face, if you ride them out - you just may weather the storm. No easy answers and there's no quick fixes.

I love this movie. Its a b flick, but i feel hasnt had nearly enough publicity. Its corny but has a good message and the 14 year old girl that wrote it did a really good job. My mom got this movie a long time ago and i didnt wanna watch it but actually liked the cheesiness of it a lot but i ❤ b flix. 😊✌

Maybe people have seen the movie, 13, and thought it was intense. I know I did. But, this, also, is another one of those teenage angst movies written by the teen herself and suffice it to say holds some very intense emotional turmoil in it as well as a few head-isodes, you won't want to miss. The trailer doesn't do it, you have to just watch the movie.
