I actually really liked it. Which was shocking to me, because I normally am not one to like cover songs. I really liked the multiple character plot lines that fused together into one musical show. I actually kind of like it more than zootopia, because it has realistic human stories that you can relate too. The stay at home mother with way too many kids, the young heartbroken teen, the impressionable troubled youth with a checkered family, and the struggling man with the dream to run his own who doesn't even have enough to pay the power bill. We all know somebody similar to this, or at least heard/watched stories similar. All bonded through their love of theatere and music. A very cute and fun family movie.

Bad writing paired with great vocals. Pretty sure the cast got together after some other projects or an awards show for a trip to a karaoke bar, and decided they were good enough to make a movie out of it. And it works on that level much better than I expected. All but one character has no logical motivation to continue after the second act. Honestly thought Mike was voiced by Frank Sinatra, Junior instead of what is Seth MacFarlane's best performance to date.

This was fun to watch, made me smile, and Im still humming the tunes at the end. I actively looked up the songs, loved the original song and love replaying the final performance. The squid lights was truly an awe inspiring idea. Any movie that makes me get up and research, sing along, smile and hum along is, to me, a great movie as I enjoyed it, I go immersed. Fun and Entertaining.
