Sam Baker's (Molly Ringwald) 16th birthday should be perfect and memorable, but her whole family is so preoccupied with her older sister's (Blanche Baker) wedding that they completely forget her big day. But catching the eye of Jake Ryan (Michael Schoeffling) would make everything better for Sam. Anthony Michael Hall, John Cusack, Gedde Watanabe and Haviland Morris co-star in writer-director John Hughes's classic 1980s teen-angst comedy.

It was an average story, with the occasional good joke. Am I the only one that is bugged by the fact that this is a pg movie, yet it has profanity and full frontal nudity?

Just purchased, and it wont play. It says try again, but no progress or any status. Disappointed. I would like $3 back.

I absolutely love this movie. It's a very funny romantic comedy about a girl who's parents forget her birthday. This is one of the best films I've ever seen In my life. 10/10
