Acerca de esta película

The curse is cast…the magic is real…and one kiss will change everything! Fall under the spell of Sleeping Beauty, the ultimate princess fairy tale that is now part of the acclaimed Walt Disney Signature Collection. Beauty, wonder and thrilling adventure spin together in a grand legend that transcends time as the evil and jealous fairy Maleficent, one of imagination’s most spectacular villains, casts a curse on the kingdom’s beloved Princess Aurora. Hoping to save the princess, three Good Fairies—Merryweather, Flora and Fauna—spirit her off to the forest where they raise her as their own daughter. But it isn’t enough, for on her 16th birthday, Aurora pricks her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and falls into a deep, enchanted sleep just as Maleficent had intended. The Good Fairies do not give up, and they help brave Prince Phillip—armed with the Shield of Virtue and the Sword of Truth—defeat a powerful fire-breathing dragon, rescue Aurora and break the spell with true love’s kiss. Share all the magic and majesty in Disney’s animated classic Sleeping Beauty!

A) really bad quality, it's so old, B) THIS MOVIE SUCKS. Aurora does flipping NOTHING, their relationship doesn't grow at ALL, SO sexist, the only powerful woman in the movie is the BAD GUY, NO POINT plot revolves around "love at first sight", which doesn't EXIST, the curse is STUPID; who curses someone with a FINGER PRICK from a SPINNING WHEEL, honestly, SNOW WHITE is better than this, ANYTHING for God's sake, WORST MOVIE EVER please don't WASTER YOUR MONEY on this, no theme, sets a HORRIBLE example for small children and costs WAY MORE THAN IT SHOULD because ANYONE WITH A BRAIN WOULD BREAK THE TV AFTER WATCHING IT so unless you're planning on buying a new TV anyway, don't waste your money. Please.

The color pallet in this film is super bright for an old hand drawn movie. Seems to have been a major point of the artistry as the 3 good fairy's are a focus of bright RGB color. The story isn't bad if you don't mind the helpless princess archetype who relies on a host of friends and a white knight to save her. Check out maleficent (Disney) for a more mature and clever telling of the tale.

I think the visuals are pretty good, the music is pretty good, the voice acting is pretty good, and the musicianship is basically flawless. However, Aurora neither looks, nor sounds sixteen, and the characters are basic. Admittedly, Disney was working to make this "olden" source material family friendly, but they could have fleshed out the characters more so that they weren't so basic. The aspects which I just can't excuse: A) How did these fairies who don't know the first thing about baking or sewing, yet abstained from magic for sixteen years, manage to raise a child during that time? How could they go that whole time and still not know to crack an egg? Did they only gather vegan, paleo foods and eat them raw for those sixteen years? NOT TO MENTION THE DIAPERS THEY WOULD HAVE TO WASH AND REUSE. They planned for almost every eventuality and were willing rough it, yet never learned to sew or cook? =/ B) Are the fairies the main protagonists? They never learned or grew at all, but Aurora and Philip are shown making choices and attempting to do things too rarely for either to be the main character. It's some weak sauce...but there are some very precious and beautiful moments. 4/5.
