Jack Traven (Keanu Reeves), an LAPD cop on SWAT detail, has a fearless nature and a keen understanding of the criminal mind. That, and some luck have kept him alive. But Jack's luck is being put to the ultimate test. An elusive bomber-extortionist Howard Payne (Dennis Hopper) is seeking vengeance after his latest ransom scheme is thwarted. Payne gives a personal challenge to Jack: A bomb is rigged on a city bus, which will detonate if the speedometer drops below 50 MPH. Poor Annie (Sandra Bullock) gets shoved into the driver's seat, while Jack does his best to save the day.

Dosent slow down , dustin hoffman made up for water world with this one , Sandra Bullok , you wild cat, and is it johnny utah, neo, or john wick, nope just bomb squad having a really bad day. Thank you all spent 100 hours on that bus with you in last 30 years

One of my all time favorite movies! Keanu and Sandra share great chemistry, possibly due to the understanding that they both had crushes on each other during filming (Watch Ellen clips). Visuals are very descriptive and well screened. I applaud all cast and crew.

Easily in the top 5 of 90s action. The dialogie is fantastic with plenty of one liners, but they never feel campy. High stakes, everyone has a compelling motivation, no bull. Dennis plays howard payne perfectly. By far my favorite villan ever.
