"Sucker Punch" is an epic action fantasy that takes us into the vivid imagination of a young girl whose dream world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. She has been locked away against her will, but Babydoll (Emily Browning) has not lost her will to survive. Determined to fight for her freedom, she urges four other young girls to band together and try to escape their terrible fate at the hands of their captors. Led by Babydoll, the girls engage in fantastical warfare against everything from samurais to serpents, with a virtual arsenal at their disposal. Together, they must decide what they are willing to sacrifice in order to stay alive. But with the help of a Wise Man (Scott Glenn), their unbelievable journey—if they succeed—will set them free.

I would rather get caught watching porn than this, it would be less embarrassing and probably would have a better story line too. Just because they use "metaphors" to explain things doesn't make it "deep". DO NOT watch this movie, it is a taste you will never be able to get rid of.

Suckerpunch is a very misunderstood film and the knee jerk reaction against it is very unfortunate and in many parts inspired by a irrational hate for the director. Certainly the film is more style and substance but at the same time the substance is still pretty good. Films with far less substance have received far more accolades. If you can see the Director's Cut you will better understand what Snyder was trying to do.

I loved this story with it's layers of metaphor, but possibly not for everyone.
