I can't say much for this film, other than this is why unmasked characters often kill actor's careers. On a plus side, at least Johnny Depp had a beard in PotC, so he could shave and move on. Christopher Reeve, baby faced and exposed, never recovered from the disaster that was Superman 3 and this, well, this was actually worse. And people say Man of Steel was garbage :P

Those version-- no, ALL post-DVD versions-- has been cleaned up drastically. To get the closest possible appreciation for what the original audiences saw, find a VHS tape of it. Trust me: however bad you young'uns think THIS version is-- you just have no idea.

After the garbage of Superman 3, they began to take steps in the right direction with this one. Just watch Superman 1,2 & 4. Superman saves people and fights a super powered villain. He gets to use his heat vision. He gets to punch something. He gets to do everything we expect Superman to do. It's family friendly and fun. It's not perfect but I loved it as a kid and my son does too. That's enough for me. It's much more comic book style than the first two. This one feels more episodic and less movie-ish.
