Acerca de esta película

Aaron Eckhart stars as Nick Naylor, a sexy, charismatic spin-doctor for Big Tobacco who'll fight to protect America's right to smoke -- even if it kills him -- while still remaining a role model for his 12-year old son. When he incurs the wrath of a senator (William H. Macy) bent on snuffing out cigarettes, Nick's powers of "filtering the truth" will be put to the test. As Nick says, "If you want an easy job, go work for the Red Cross." With a smokin' all-star cast that includes Rob Lowe, Maria Bello, Katie Holmes, Adam Brody and Robert Duvall, this hilarious comedy will prove seriously addictive!

What other movie has the tobacco lobbyist as the hero? The concerned Senator the villian? The reporter a terrible person and all his friends likable despite being known as "The Merchants of Death"? This movie talks about a tobacco lobbyist who's job is to intermediate the concerns of smoking to DC. And he does it very very well! He's charming, charismatic, witty, and surprisingly a good father despite who he works for. And oddly enough, for a movie all about smoking, there is actually nobody smoking at all!

Most of the meaningful (imo) points of, and take-away from this favorite movie of mine, can be found between the 7:00 and 14:30 minute markers. Aside from the obvious overall message that this is the way everything in life operates; money, spin, and influence. If you pick a side, think it's about good vs. evil, or Big Tobacco, you'll likely miss the meaningful bit. The rest is hysterically funny comedy, all the way through to the very end. Look for the easy to miss subtleties like in the first few few frames at 7:00.

Absolutely hilarious! Outstanding script, music, acting, directing, and comedic timing! Watch Jason Reitman's top grossing films--Juno & Up In The Air are just as enjoyable!
