As a fan of Spider-Man, I couldn't. help but feel disappointed with this outing. To make a long story short, it has too many plot lines that either get a weak resolution or get dropped altogether in favor of an on again/off again love story that we have seen way too many times in these films. I also didn't like how everyone and everything was somehow interconnected with each other. It drastically shrinkens Spider-Man's vast universe.

The acting and special fx were great and story was well written. But to tell you the truth, it's not exactly the best Spider-Man movie ever. Andrew Garfield's portrayal of Peter Parker seemed a bit off to me. He seemed too cool to be a nerd, even before his powers. And the plot was a bit too predictable. I've never read the comic and I heard that this film was faithful to it, but I thought it would be alot better. Call me old fashioned, but I think I'll stick with the original Spider-Man movies for now.

The only thing I like about this movie was the return of the web-shooters. I've been spiderman fan for over 40 years. I still have my collection. Every one my friends who grew up with me who read the books agree this guy was not Peter Parker. I found him to be annoying and rather bratty. I felt the previous three were closer to the story line despite lack of webshooters. I hope they do a better job on the sequel.
