Don't listen to the h8rz: If you've not seen this yet, definitely rent it! I freaking love the first Matrix, not the sequels except for that incredible highway set piece in #2 and Neo turning into a cat at the end of #3 - and will be buying those as well as this. Kid's Story is the bestest! #GoofySquad FTW! I wasn't planning on learning those kind of sk8 trix but if it helps me get away from Agents then HELLZ YEAH I will! And The Detective one and the runner one and the Osiris are the next best. The others are ok; reading about them on Wikipedia helped me understand them better. Renaissance is a little brutal; Agent Smith was right: Humans are a virus - we suck basically. I'd recommend this for anyone 14+. I love toons but this has been my first taste of animé and it's pretty cool, man! Where have i been all this time?! Well written, well crafted, well directed (how *does one direct animation anyway?) collection of back stories. 15 years l8 but worth the w8. Will buy HD when it's on offer (delayed gratification, baby;)

Oh Dear! It really isn't a good sign when the real life movie is more stylish than the animation. I love a bit of Mangalore, but there's way too much faffing about, as if some friendless teenager has just unboxed a million dollar computer and is tugging at themselves with one hand while clicking on all the whiz bang new features with the other. Very self indulgent, not entertaining for others and frankly quite embarrassing to watch! Soooo disappointing!

Seriously... Another spin off of a good film that if watch will ruin the original, and animatrix! Dumb name. The matrix is a loop, so everything already happened so impossible for anything new to happen
