Acerca de esta película

Casey (Jesse Eisenberg) just can't seem to win. Attacked on the street, humiliated at his job and even emasculated by his dog, he joins a local karate dojo led by the enigmatic Sensei (Alessandro Nivola) to learn how to defend himself. In the midst of his training, Casey becomes friendly with a female instructor (Imogen Poots) and soon realizes he is caught in a bizarre world of outcasts, fraternal rituals and hilarious hyper-masculinity.

Extremely well balance between comedy & dark. The jokes are done well. Props to the female lead who really did an amazing job at acting and Jesse the lead man was brilliant too. The writing was done well, the darkness of this movie really helped break it from being just a dark comedy to a story you couldn't help but follow. Kudos to the crew too because those sets and everything was really well done. The 'feminist' undertone isnt really one. It just points out the dumb stuff some people say.

This isn't a movie for most people very dark and challenging to watch. Everyone is psychopathic and the movie was extremely predictable out of the gate. No laughs, a little mild a amusement. Still an interesting concept that some might enjoy, I guess I did enjoy it but I doubt I'll ever watch it again. I think I'll now watch Kill Me Three Times, I need a laugh after that.

Thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining film! It does lean towards the dark and dystopian, but it's a great tale of an underdog fighting for justice and finding his place in the world. Anyone who enjoys Jesse Eisenberg's work will be sure to enjoy this movie and its offbeat humor. Dedicated pet lovers will also relate to the struggle of the hero of this piece :)
