Awful. Though I know it is impossible to stick exactly to the book's plot line, most books-turned-films do so, at least remotely. As a professional fangirl of the book series, I found this movie greatly disappointing. The first two were all right, but this was a pile of clunk. Don't waste your money on this. The acting's awful, there's no real chemistry between Tris and Tobias.

I watched this on a plane, I hadn't even heard of the series. I found the story interesting, even without background knowledge of the franchise. The soundtrack is especially good (it has a Deus Ex: Human Revolution feel), and I was generally intrigued by the art design. The acting might be a little off at times but it isn't a problem, neither is it unexpected for this kind of production. I have since watched the previous two films and I would say this one probably has the best soundtrack.

This is a good film and goes some way in providing answers to the journey that the other two in the series started. Having not read the book I can take the storyline at face value. It would have been better though had the movie producers not tried to split the last instalment into two films and shelved the last because of revenue fears. They have left the story unfinished and many of the audiences unhappy.
