So many lessons to be taught in this movie. The idea of the father dying to save his son was heart wrenching. I have lost my seven year old son to a crazy obsessive divorce. This adventure of spot and the dinosaur was fantastic. It gave me the little bit of hope that my son will grow up with life skills an one day to have him realize I am alive praying he would grow better than I am. Also speaks volumes about friendships and families, without them you are alone. We all need to go to be a better species and help those who are in need. I love this movies as it tied man thought, issues and ways to resolve them to a close. I just wished he would have found his father in his own adventures. Ad this is all due to the fact I need my son to find me..

The Good Dinosaur has incredibly beautiful and realistic animation, but just falls short of the Pixar standard. I think most people like me wouldn't have been disappointed by the movie except that we were going to see a Pixar film and expected more. Without spoiling too much, the story just has been told before (by Disney, no less) and there were certain scenes that just didn't add to the character or the plot development. It's entirely predictable and the main character doesn't have any particularly redeeming qualities, even by the end of the story. A lot of details aren't wrapped up - the conclusion just doesn't give you the catharsis and sense of finality that you want (and that most Pixar films deliver so well). That said, the background truly was breathtaking - the closing credits felt so realistic that I almost wondered if it had been filmed. So, one step forward for animation, but one step backwards for storytelling.

My friends and I didn't like this at all. We decided it's because the movie had all the worst parts of every bad movie in it. Every time you thought something good was happening, it would turn bad. We were expecting a kids movie and instead it was dark or "mature".
