And so the misadventures begin as he and fellow travelers, including the cool but dim-witted President of the Galaxy, the Earth girl Trillian, and Marvin the paranoid android, search for answers to the mystery of Life, the Universe, and Everything.

This movie sucks and I can't believe I listened through half the theme song! Seriously the people who rated the movie with 5 stars must have bad taste in scy fy! I guess I have too high of expectations since I'm an avid scy fy movie watcher I by anything if its good! But this movie is worse then the old stuff! I gave up before the theme song ended waiting for it too end! Hardcore scy fy gets straight too the action you wanna see! This movie is CRAP! Sincerely worth 1 star.

Great cast totally wasted. Considering how good the source material is, this may be the worst adaptation ever. It's as if the jokes were translated and then verbalized phonetically by people who don't speak the language. No one involved in the making of this movie should ever be allowed near good source material again. Or they should forever forced to listen to Vogon poetry. If you loved the books, the radio show, the record or even the TV show, AVOID THIS! It is terrible.

Having read the books, I had high hopes for this film. I remember wanting to see it nearly a decade ago but never getting around to it. After just watching it, I can safely say that this movie was such a huge disappointment. This movie is vaguely similar to the original work, only much, much worse. The casting was horrible. Zoey Deschannel and Mos Def?! Are you serious?! Zoey is so two-dimensional and uninteresting, and Mos is trying too hard to make Ford comic-relief when he never was intended to be. Bad.
