The Hunt is a disturbing depiction of how a lie is taken as truth when gossip, doubt and malice are allowed to flourish and ignite a witch-hunt that soon threatens to destroy an innocent man's life. Lucas is just starting to get his life back together after losing his job and facing a difficult divorce, when his life is shattered by an untruthful remark, throwing his small community into a collective state of hysteria. As the lie spreads, Lucas is forced to fight a lonely battle for his life and dignity.

Mads Mikkelsen's performance in this film is top-notch and incredibly emotional. It's so easy to feel empathy for Lucas (Mikkelsen) and utter hatred toward the townspeople wrongly accusing him of such a vile act. This film kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish and I highly recommend it to any fan of Mads Mikkelsen.

Wow. This was a rough one. First - it's European from the politically incorrect part. Lots of nudity, harsh topics, tough situation. Story about "excessive protection causing disasters", about how couple of silly words could lead to a ruined life. Of helpnessness and resilience. I would say the closest US counterpart would be "We need to talk about Kevin". Strongly recommend.

When I first read the synopsis I was a bit hesitant to watch this film. However since I'm a fan of Mads, I thought I would give it a go. It was a choice I'm happy that I did because this film opened my eyes to this serious matter. I knew Mads was a great actor from seeing him in Hannibal, but his performance in this film is magnificent! You can't help but to feel sorry for his character and wishing the other characters could realize that it's all false lies targeted towards mad's character. If you haven't seen this movie, please take the time and watch it. It's a true eye opener!
