Acerca de esta película

In Columbia Pictures' The Karate Kid, 12-year-old Dre Parker (Jaden Smith) could've been the most popular kid in Detroit, but his mother's (Taraji P. Henson) latest career move has landed him in China. Dre immediately falls for his classmate Mei Ying - and the feeling is mutual - but cultural differences make such a friendship impossible. Even worse, Dre's feelings make an enemy of the class bully, Cheng. In the land of kung fu, Dre knows only a little karate, and Cheng puts "the karate kid" on the floor with ease. With no friends in a strange land, Dre has nowhere to turn but maintenance man Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), who is secretly a master of kung fu. As Han teaches Dre that kung fu is not about punches and parries, but maturity and calm, Dre realizes that facing down the bullies will be the fight of his life. MPAA Rating: PG Rated PG for bullying, martial arts action violence and some mild language. © 2010 Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc. All Rights Reserved.

I thought Jaden did well in the movie. & his years of training in martial arts speaks volumes in the movie too. Pros: I liked the diversity of the characters versus the norm (i.e. Karate Kid 1-3 & 3 Ninjas). Thus, I like how the movie used actual martial arts practitioners! (I'm a huge fan of the craft). Cons: the movie needs more substance & longevity. The relationship between Mr. Han & his student felt rushed. It didn't develop as well & wasn't as meaningful as it should have been between the 2.

I loved the movie. It gets me very emotional and pumped up before I competed on my track competition. It gets me hungry inside for victory and not giving up. I feel like I'm an underdog and its my time to shine. Definitely worth watching, especially if you're and athlete.

This movie tanked. As if the first one wasn't corney enough. Also I think the boy ruined the movie. Honestly not everyone should be an actor. If you ever see him tell him I said that.... thanks:)
