The town of Karmack, USA, in the midst of a deep depression, decides to hire a ‘Middle Man’ whose sole responsibility is to professionally communicate bad news to those who need to hear it. Frank Farrelli, a quiet, thoughtful man, proves perfect for the job, and takes on his new role with gusto, quickly becoming the town’s beacon of bad news. But the pressures of the job and a budding new romance begin to overwhelm Frank, resulting in a grisly outcome.
