I thoroughly enjoyed this film, having watched it multiple times. It uses a distinctive art style in order to tell a story of a boy coming of age and finding his passion for art in a medieval Irish monastery. It also sees the blending of Christian mythology and the lore of that time. The artwork heavily references illuminated texts of the period, including the real Book of Kells. The music is also quite beautiful. Highly recommended.

Thoroughly enjoyable. Wonderful artistic style and design. However I would really like to see more "films" or other books and information highlighting more of the truth and many tireless journeys to keep the book from destruction. Also from the beginning to the end of the creation.

Huge fan of ALL the Cartoon Saloon films include this debut hit. My niece and nephew are absolutely enchanted.
