I was weary of renting this movie without it having a preview available. I'm a POV fan, so I went for it and took the chance. Now I have a new rule....POV or not, I'm never renting any movie without a preview available. Honestly, there was potential for this movie to be good, but they didn't or couldn't deliver. Not worth my $ unfortunately.

A horror film for the Burning Man generation and anthropological study of a theme camp gone very wrong...or perhaps very right? I appreciate this film because I recognize its references and admire its delightfully twisting of our shared neo-culture. This "documentary" plays out like the nightmare version of so many intentional communities/camps I've interacted with, but tells the story without mocking the source. Lots of well executed characters and editing cleverness here. Everyone in the film felt very natural while the images and occasional montages felt crisp and looked great. The end resolution was a little abrupt, given the setup, but overall an enjoyable entry into the genre for multiple reasons.

All high star ratings from the filmmakers themselves. Interesting....
