Acerca de esta película

Music lovers will be astonished at the influence The Wrecking Crew wielded over rock and pop music in the 1960s and early 1970s. These unsung instrumentalists were the de-facto backing band on hit records by The Beach Boys, Phil Spector, Frank Sinatra, Nancy Sinatra, Sonny & Cher, Elvis, The Monkees and many more. These dedicated musicians brought the flair and musicianship that made the American “West Coast Sound” a dominant cultural force around the world.

I loved this movie. I first heard about The Wrecking Crew from a friend of mine that was a DJ in New Jersey near where I grew up in the 60s. He told me stories of these musicians and how they helped shape the sound of music and radio in the 60s. It was based on these stories that I watched the movie. This movie is awesome because the musicians tell their own stories along with some of the producers and singers of the time like Cher, Glenn Campbell and Brian Wilson. If you like 60s music this is must-see!

I'm so happy that the rights to use the music for this film were finally obtained. For several years this film was shown privately because of the cost of releasing those rights. It's a huge triumph but alas a sad one. The era of this style of recording - minimal takes and reliance on gifted studio players that actually play together live in the studio - is long gone. One of my musical hero's; Carol Kaye, is heavily featured and her humility and sincerity is one of the films highlights.

Anyone who listens to music MUST see this film. Much more than memories, thgis is history that most of us never knew. Living proof that we should never be sad because it ended; be happy that it happened!!
