El policía novato Jake Hoyt quiere atrapar ladrones, más no convertirse en uno de ellos. Sin embargo, quedarse del lado correcto de la línea que separa a los policías de los criminales será un reto mayor que cualquier cosa a la que se haya enfrentado. Esto se debe a que el veterano compañero de Hoyt durante las próximas 24 horas es Alonzo Harris, un narcotraficante encubierto más peligroso que cualquiera de las calles más temibles de Los Angeles. En una enérgica variación de sus frecuentes papeles como tipo bueno, Denzel Washington interpreta a Harris, el torcido pero carismático detective que atrae al mismo tiempo que causa repulsión mientras se convierte en el tipo de matón al que se supone él mismo captura. Ethan Hawke da vida al inexperto recluta Hoyt. Antoine Fuqua (Asesinos Sustitutos, Carnada) dirige a un reparto que incluye estrellas musicales como Dr. Dre, Macy Gray y Snoop Dogg. Día de Entrenamiento es el día indicado para arreglar viejas cuentas.

Calificaciones y opiniones

Just another movie making all cops look bad like the crew of the vice squad Denzel seems to be in charge of. He did a good job showing the first day of the new guy but once he uses his peer pressure to get his trainee (Ethan Hawke) to smoke crack you could almost count on the ending the way it did. Denzel did not give the quality performance of his previous movies nor did he give it the depth that he has done in the past! Sorry Denzel not your best work.

Denzel is dynamite and Ethan is the fall guy. Tons of action, both actors were superb. Even a little Scott Glenn... You can watch this one over and over again. I had three Monte Carlos, but never as cool as the one in the movie- awesome!

This movie had every angle that you want action pack, suspenseful, plot twist, and of course the bad guy gets it in the end. The only thing I didn't like is out of all the great movies Denzel has played in he never got an Oscar until this movie. All the actors were excellent as well.
