I have a 3 and 6 year old. They absolutely love this movie, especially my 3 year old autistic daughter. She doesn't talk much but she started imitating the actions and some of the words of the movie. She doesn't normally dance but will dance to the musical numbers. It's such a cute movie. I havent looked through the comments but I suspect much of the negative response has to do with the bully/ugly song. But the message at the end is beautiful.

It connected you to the hurt feelings of throw away toys, but it also, peels away bias hidden layers one may have permiating within them-selves toward difference that society rejects, as the norm of life. It exposes truism, of reality. And, sending a powerful Message about how Social Control Rules over difference that never are allowed to question or waver, from the norm. Acceptance of Eternal Dooms without question (NEVER ALLOWED TO HAVE A VOICE!).

Honestly, I can understand why people wouldn't like it, but let's be for real, we're not gonna get a Pixar-quality film out of any other non-Pixar studio. I enjoyed it, mainly because I found it to be funny and charming. It's not for everyone, but if you want to check out some decent films. This one might be on your list.
