Each movie doesn't need you to watch the predecessors as the back story is always explained along the way. Even the first gives you the back story perfectly. All I can say is watch for yourself and then judge. I always take others reviews into account but never predetermine based solely on them. Also for the male viewer's(& females) omg Kate really wears her leathers with sex oozing splendor yummy!

Great-looking addition to the franchise. I missed the ten or twenty minutes that didn't make it in. I found myself at the ending credits thinking, "If I'd paid $18 to watch that at a cinema, in 3D; I'd be upset."

The film is great. Seems that this film is very action based and not to the detriment of the story line. Would recommend watching the first two in the series first as otherwise this might not make sense. Bad reviews seem to be about technical issue and not about the movie its self which is not the point of reviewing a movie.
