Von Ryan's Express features a troop of Allied soldiers trying to break away from a prison camp in Italy.  While the majority of the prisoners at the camp are British, a strong-minded, quick-witted American Air Force colonel takes charge and leads the escape, which requires that the prisoners to sneak onto a German train bound for Switzerland.  Ryan, an American POW, leads his fellow prisoners on a hazardous escape from the Germans in Italy by taking over the German train.  Having apparently made errors of judgment, Ryan has to earn the support of the British soldiers he is commanding.

I saw this movie in 1965. I have seen it several times since! Each time seems like the first and i never tire of it. I'm always satisfied with the drama and adventure!- john agront- pa. Great movie for young & old!

Superb, "edge of your seat" action, that has a good continuous "flow" to it! Ultra REAL special effects - NO cheap CG here, which of course, not even invented or thought of yet! Frank was great here, as he was in -Manchurian Candidate!

Frank Sinatra was awesome all the way the man could sing the man could act number one in my book Thank You Frankie love the movie love the man he was great I miss him !. And I am straight!!! .
