From Christopher Guest -- one of the creators and stars of the hilarious rock 'n' roll satire "This Is Spinal Tap" -- comes this "mockumentary" about the small-town community of Blaine, Missouri, as they prepare for the 150th anniversary of their town by putting on an elaborate stage play. Hoping to create a triumphant work, they pin their hopes and dreams on an outrageous former New York theater director who promises to deliver a famous Broadway producer in time for the premiere. Calificaciones y opiniones

If you've never seen "This is Spinal Tap" or "Best of Show" then watch those first before seeing this. If you have seen those, expect the same humor but toned down a bit. Honestly, I'd call this a Christopher Guest fan film (like "A Mighty Wind"). It's good and I like it, but it's got a much slower pace to it (even though they're nearly firing jokes/sight gags at a frantic pace) and I could see people unaware of what they're watching being bored/confused with what's happening.

Boring beyond words . I wanted this to be another "A Mighty Wind ". It fell far short . I was sadly disappointed and bored with the entire movie . Could not get through it in one sitting . .struggled each time I tried .

What an excellent satire on American life. I lol'd through the film in college, first falling in love with Guest's other film Best in Show. In Waiting for Guffman, he ensembles an excellent, hilarious cast.
