When Twisted Sister exploded onto the national music scene in 1983, the foul-mouthed, cross-dressing rabble-rousers became one of the definitive glam rock acts of the 1980s, their infamous live shows drawing devoted sell-out crowds and their music videos establishing an early MTV. But the band that killed disco was hardly an overnight success. WE ARE TWISTED SISTER! is the wickedly entertaining and surprisingly poignant untold story of the ten grueling years spent tirelessly performing in Long Island bars and night clubs in the lead up to the band’s legendary career, recounted by the band themselves along with their managers, publicists and biggest fans.

I had no idea how long and hard these guys had worked to reach the level of success they finally achieved when I first heard them back in the 80s in the iconic video "We're not going to take it" and unfortunately out of the 100s of bands I've seen, never got to see them live. The film takes you through their decade long journey to the point where many of us first discovered them. Just a fantastic presentation about how hard work and perseverance pays off. Now make a movie on the next decade of TS please!
